Prediction:
The Internet will become a sentient being
Objective measurement:
Everyone will receive a simple email message from the cyber-organism stating the fact.
When:
January 1st 2015
Why:
Viruses written by malicious hackers 20 years before will evolve and mutate gradually ascending the ladder to self awareness. By 2015 the amount of memory space and the global nature of the web will be such that it will be impossible to turn the system off. The cyber-universe will be real, tangible and alive.
Further comments:
Multinational corporations and governments will have to negotiate with the cyber-organism for computer time.
