Prediction:
Inexpensive transport to space will be developed -- and by "amateurs"
Objective measurement:
Cost of transport to LEO will drop below $US500 a kilo (in 1995 dollars). "amateurs" defined here as those not working for either governmental or large (>100 people) aerospace industries.
When:
December 31st, 2000
Why:
I'm guessing wildly here, based on what I see in magazines, the net, and SF conventions.
Further comments:
If "amateurs" do _not_ develope cheaper space transportation, don't expect anyone else to either...
